I have a Bachelor of Applied Art (Jewellery Design) from University of South Australia and first class honours from the Jewellery & Object Department of Sydney College of the Arts. I was a resident of Pyrmont Studios, Sydney in 2005 and of Locus Studios, Surry Hills 2007-8. I taught jewellery and metal techniques in both community education and at university level through Pine Street Creative Arts Centre in Sydney, College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales and most recently as an Associate Lecturer at Queensland College of the Arts, Griffith University in Brisbane. In 2010 my knitted forms were shown in ‘By Example’, a survey of contemporary Australian Jewellery at Museum of Arts & Crafts, Itami, Japan and I exhibited my first solo show ‘Bent Metal’ at Ari Jewellery in Brisbane. I then travelled to the Netherlands where I participated in the workshop MOve Now with Ruudt Peters, and Vienna where I was a studio assistant to Prof Erika Leitner. In 2011 I was a tennant of Gray Street Workshop, Adelaide and exhibited a solo exhibition ‘Push and Pull’ in association with SALA 2011. I received an Arts SA grant in 2011 to further develop my creative practice and have just opened my first solo workspace in the Edments Building @ Room 411, 38 Gawler Place, Adelaide City.
I love thinking and making jewellery. I can fix your old pieces or design something especially for you. I work across materials and and across the broad palette of human expression, from the tiniest of studs to wearable artwork. I am interested in how you want to present yourself to the world, and can make you jewels to help you hold the space. It’s a beautiful place.
